The Outreach Code

Every ProbateLedger lead is a family dealing with a death. Every subscriber agrees to this code before receiving data. Breaking it ends your subscription without a refund.

1. Mail first

Start with a respectful letter. Don't knock on the door of an occupied home, and never approach anyone at a funeral, a service or a cemetery.

2. Stop means stop

When anyone asks you to stop, stop in every channel (mail, phone, text, email, in person) right away, and keep a record of the request. Remove them from every list you run.

3. Follow marketing law

Phone and text outreach must follow the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the National Do Not Call Registry (you need your own registry access) and your state's telemarketing laws, including calling-hour limits. Don't use autodialers, prerecorded voices or mass texting without the consent the law requires.

4. Tell the truth

No pressure, no deadlines you invented, no pretending to be from the court, a government office or the family's attorney. Say who you are and what you're offering.

5. Respect the estate process

The personal representative may not have legal authority to sell until the court grants it, and may need court approval for a sale. Don't push anyone to act before they can.

6. Don't use the data for anything else

ProbateLedger data is for real estate research and outreach. Never use it to decide anyone's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment or housing, and never resell or share it.
