Privacy

What we collect from subscribers

Your name, email, the counties and strategy you choose, and billing details. Card numbers go to Stripe, our payment processor; we never see or store them. We keep a record of your agreement to our terms and automatic renewal, as the law requires.

If you ask for a free county sample or join a waitlist, we keep your email, the county you picked and your agreement to the Outreach Code. We use them only to send the sample and a few short follow-up emails, each with a link to stop them.

What our product contains

Information from public court records and public property tax records: names in estate filings, mailing addresses of personal representatives, property details. We don't collect phone numbers or emails of people in those records, and we don't use the Social Security Death Master File.

How we use and share it

Subscriber data is used to deliver the service and bill you. We don't sell subscriber data. Record data goes only to paying subscribers under our terms, and, a few records at a time, to people who ask for a free county sample and agree to the Outreach Code. Our terms forbid resale and any use for credit, insurance, employment or housing decisions.

If a subscriber turns on Mail Autopilot, we send the letter text, the recipient's name and mailing address, and the subscriber's name, contact details and return address to our print-and-mail provider (Lob) only to print and mail those letters. The postal service may tell us a letter couldn't be delivered; we then stop writing to that address. When a family asks us to stop, we keep the request and the address on a do-not-mail list so the letters stay stopped.

Your choices

Subscribers can cancel online anytime. Families can ask us to remove a record or stop letters, using the reference code printed on any letter. California residents and residents of other states with privacy laws may request access to or deletion of their personal information by writing to us.
